Ingredient: Wood
Use: A building material and can be crafted into many things.

Sticks
Ingredient: Planks
Use: Used to craft torches, arrows, signs, ladders and fences.

Torch
Ingredient: Stick + Coal
Use: Used to light areas. Torches also melt snow and ice.

Workbench
Ingredient: 4 Wooden Planks
Use: Allows you to craft items that require a 3×3 crafting grid.

Furnace
Ingredient: 8 Cobblestone
Use: Allows you to be able to smelt.

Chest
Ingredient: 8 Wooden Planks
Use: Allows you to be able to store more items than you can hold in your inventory.

Block Recipes

Ore Blocks
Ingredient: 9 Gold Ingots, Iron Ingots, Diamond Gems, or Lapis Lazuli Dyes (all of one kind)
Use: Allows you to be able to place ingots into blocks for placement or storage.

Glowstone
Ingredient: 4 Glowstone Dust
Use: Allows you to create a block of Glowstone, which acts as a torch, providing light and melting snow and ice.

Wool
Ingredient: 4 String
Use: Can be used as a building material. You can also collect wool from sheep.

TNT
Ingredient: Sulfur + Sand
Use: Used to blow stuff up.

Stone Slab
Ingredient: 3 Cobblestone
Use: Used to create stairs. Each step is half the height of a block, so placing two on top of each other will create a step that is one block in height.

Stairs
Ingredient: 6 Wooden Planks or Cobblestone
Use: Used for creating steep stairs.

Snow Block
Ingredient: 4 Snow Balls
Use: Used as a building material or for storing Snow Balls.

Clay Block
Ingredient: 4 Clay
Use: Used as a building material or for storing clay.

Brick Block
Ingredient: 4 Clay Bricks
Use: Used as a building material.

Ingredient: 6 Wooden Planks, 3 Books
Use: Used as a decoration.

Jack-O-Lantern
Ingredient: 1 Pumpkin + 1 Torch
Use: Works like a torch, providing light and melting snow and ice, but it’s brighter than a torch and stays lit underwater.

Tool Recipes

Axe
Ingredient: 2 Sticks + 3 Wooden Planks, Cobblestone, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: Let’s you cut down trees faster than by hand.

Pickaxe
Ingredient: 2 Sticks + 3 Wooden Planks, Cobblestone, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: This tool is needed to collect stone materials. If you try to collect these by hand, you’ll just end up breaking the blocks and nothing will be left over.

Shovel
Ingredient: 2 Sticks + 1 Wooden Plank, Cobblestone, Iron Ingot, Gold Ingot or Diamond Gem
Use: This tool is needed to collect snow balls. It will also dig up ground quicker.

Hoes
Ingredient: 2 Sticks + 2 Wooden Planks, Cobblestone, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: Used to till soil and find seeds for planting.

Flint and Steel
Ingredient: 1 Iron Ingot + 1 Flint
Use: Used to start fires.

Bucket
Ingredient: 3 Iron Ingots
Use: Used to hold water, lava, and milk.

Compass
Ingredient: 4 Iron Ingots + Redstone Dust
Use: Points to the player’s spawn point.

Clock
Ingredient: 4 Gold Ingots + Redstone Dust
Use: Tells the time of day.

Fishing Rod
Ingredient: 3 Sticks + 2 String
Use: Used to catch fish.

Shears
Ingredient: 2 Iron Ingots
Use: Used to shear wool off of sheep and to collect leaves.

Weapon Recipes

Sword
Ingredient: 1 Stick + 2 Wooden Planks, Cobblestone, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: Your primary weapon to defend yourself against enemies in Minecraft. Be sure to make one of these before your first night for protection.

Bow
Ingredient: 3 Sticks + 3 String
Use: A weapon you can use to attack enemies from long range. You’ll need arrows to use this.

Arrows
Ingredient: 1 Flint + 3 Stick + 1 Feather
Use: Ammo for your bow.

Armor Recipes

Helmet
Ingredient: 5 Leather, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: Protects your head and adds 1.5 armor to your character.

Chestplates
Ingredient: 8 Leather, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: Protects your chest and adds 4 armor to your character.

Leggings
Ingredient: 7 Leather, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: Protects your legs and adds 3 armor to your character.

Boots
Ingredient: 4 Leather, Iron Ingots, Gold Ingots or Diamond Gems
Use: Protects your feet and adds 1.5 armor to your character.

Transportation Recipes

Minecart
Ingredient: 5 Iron Ingots
Use: Used to transport yourself onto mine rails.

Powered Minecart
Ingredient: Furnace + Minecart
Use: Used to push other minecarts along tracks using fuel.

Storage Minecart
Ingredient: Chest + Minecart
Use: Used to transport goods along tracks.

Mine Rails
Ingredient: 1 Stick + 6 Iron Ingots
Use: The pathway that minecarts are built upon.

Powered (Booster) Mine Rails

Ingredient: 1 Stick + 6 Gold Ingots + 1 Redstone Dust
Use: Used to boost and speed up or slow down minecarts. Must be powered.

Detector Mine Rails

Ingredient: 1 Pressure Plate + 6 Iron Ingots + 1 Redstone Dust
Use: When a minecart rolls over one of these, it will activate a redstone circuit, much like normal pressure plates.

Boat
Ingredient: 5 Wooden Planks
Use: Used to travel in water.

Door
Ingredient: 6 Wooden Planks or Iron Ingots
Use: Doors are objects that can be opened by clicking on them or by using electricity. Iron doors can only be opened with electricity.

Iron Bars
Ingredient: 6 Iron Ingots
Use: Iron bars can be used like fences.

Hatch (Trapdoor)
Ingredient: 6 Wooden Planks
Use: Hatches are objects that can be opened by clicking on them or by using electricity.

Pressure Plate
Ingredient: 2 Wooden Planks, Cobblestone or Stone
Use: A plate that will activate electricity when stepped on.

Stone Button
Ingredient: 2 Stone
Use: A button that, when pressed, sends an electrical signal to whatever it’s attached to.

Redstone Torch
Ingredient: 1 Stick + 1 Redstone Dust
Use: A torch that also sends a constant electrical signal.

Lever
Ingredient: 1 Stick + 1 Cobblestone
Use: A lever that can be used to send an electrical signal. Can be switched on or off and stays on or off until clicked again.

Note Block
Ingredient: 8 Wooden Planks + 1 Redstone Dust
Use: A block that plays a note. Right click on the block to change it’s note. When placing this block on different materials, it changes the instrument used when playing the note.

Jukebox
Ingredient: 8 Wooden Planks + 1 Diamond Gem
Use: Plays records.

Dispenser
Ingredient: 7 Cobblestone + 1 Bow + 1 Redstone Dust
Use: Stores a 3×3 grid’s worth of items and when powered by Redstone, will shoot them out. If you put arrows inside, they will be fired out.

Redstone Repeater
Ingredient: 3 Stone + 2 Redstone Torches + 1 Redstone Dust
Use: Used in redstone circuits as a repeater, a delayer, and/or a diode to do cool stuff like delaying a sequence of notes from playing.

Piston
Ingredient: 4 Cobblestone + 1 Redstone Dust + 3 Wooden Planks + 1 Iron Ingot
Use: Used to move other blocks around.

Sticky Piston
Ingredient: 1 Piston + 1 Slime Ball
Use: Works just like a regular piston, but the blocks stick to the mover instead of being pushed away.

Food Recipes

Bowl
Ingredient: 3 Wooden Planks
Use: Used to hold Mushroom Stew.

Mushroom Stew
Ingredient: 1 Red Mushroom + 1 Brown Mushroom + Bowl
Use: Heals 5 hearts.

Bread
Ingredient: 3 Wheat
Use: Heals 2.5 hearts.

Sugar
Ingredient: 1 Sugar Cane
Use: Used to make cake.

Cake
Ingredient: 3 Wheat + 2 Sugar + 1 Egg + 3 Milk
Use: Heals 1.5 hearts 6 times for a total of 9 hearts of healing.

Golden Apple
Ingredient: 8 Golden Blocks + 1 Red Apple
Use: Heals all 10 hearts.

Cookie
Ingredient: 2 Wheat + 1 Cocoa Bean
Use: Heals .5 hearts.

Misc Recipes

Minerals
Ingredient: 1 Iron Block, Gold Block, Diamond Block or Lapis Lazuli Block
Use: Do this to get your Ingots or Dyes back once you want to use them. Keeping Ingots and Dyes in blocks is a great way to store them.

Painting
Ingredient: 8 Sticks + 1 Wool
Use: A nice decoration you can put on a wall of your home.

Sign
Ingredient: 6 Wooden Planks + 1 Stick
Use: A sign that will display whatever text you input into it.

Ladder
Ingredient: 7 Sticks
Use: Used to climb vertically.

Glass Pane
Ingredient: 6 Glass
Use: An alternative to using glass blocks as windows, glass panes can be placed and picked up but can’t be placed horizontally. Use them similar to fences for glass walls and windows.

Paper
Ingredient: 3 Sugar Canes
Use: Used to create books.

Book
Ingredient: 3 Papers
Use: Used to create bookshelves.

Fence
Ingredient: 6 Sticks
Use: Used to keep enemies out of areas. Doesn’t keep Spiders or Spider Jockeys out.

Fence Gate
Ingredient: 2 Sticks + 2 Wooden Planks
Use: Used like a normal gate, but in a fence so that you can build an entirely fenced in area and still enter it without having to jump over the fence.

Bed
Ingredient: 3 Wool + 3 Wooden Planks
Use: Used to move time forward. Sleep in a bed to skip night. You can use any color of wool for the bed.

Map
Ingredient: 8 Papers + 1 Compass
Use: Used to keep track of areas you have explored in the Overworld.

Bone Meal
Ingredient: 1 Bone
Use: Can be used to grow crops, flowers and wild grass instantly or to dye Wool white.

Light Gray Dye
Ingredient: 1 Ink Sac + 2 Bone Meals or 1 Gray Dye + 1 Bone Meal
Use: Used to make Light Gray Wool.

Gray Dye
Ingredient: Ink Sac + Bone Meal
Use:Used to create Gray Wool.

Rose Red
Ingredient: 1 Rose
Use:Used to create Red Wool.

Orange Dye
Ingredient: 1 Rose Red + 1 Dandelion Yellow
Use:Used to create Orange Wool.

Dandelion Yellow
Ingredient: 1 Dandelion
Use:Used to create Yellow Wool.
